An interesting consultation: the profile of the electoral districts in Montreal

A new tool which is addressed to the citizens without forgetting those which are interested in residential real-estate, can be consulted on the Website of the City of Montreal, a profile of the electoral districts carried out using the most recent data of Statistics Canada (2006).

The document presents a panoply of characteristics of the population living on the territory of the districts, the total population according to sex and age, household structure and families, the countries of birth of the immigrant population, the languages and also some socio-economic characteristics such as schooling and household income.

A bulky document with statistics for each district. It says, inter alia, that immigrants account for 29% of the population of the district and 31% of the population of Montreal. Also, 71% of the residents of the district speak French at home, that is to say a rate higher than the whole of Montreal. Also, 52% of the population of the relatively bilingual district knows the two official languages.

One can consult the profile of the electoral districts by visiting the Website of the City of Montreal.
