Innovative Home Renovation Publication and Web Site Launched in Toronto and Montreal

A new and unique 2-in-1 Home Improvement magazine has just hit the Toronto and Montreal markets. This innovative specialized publication and complementary website are being launched in partnership between Transcontinental Media, the largest publisher of consumer magazines in Canada, and Yellow Pages Group, Canada's largest directory publisher. The magazine provides people planning to renovate an all-in-one resource tool that will help them get ready for spring renovations and home improvement projects.

The new publication was released as a special home-improvement issue of Transcontinental's Style at Home and Decormag brands. Bundled with the two popular magazines and delivered to targeted homeowners and subscription holders, the magazines are also available on newsstands in Toronto and Montreal. A total of 460,000 publications will be distributed.

The 100-page magazine in the front half delivers how-to articles and advice that will help renovators plan their project efficiently, make enlightened decisions and avoid costly errors. It also offers useful tips on interior design, outdoor living, maintenance, security and even financing. Information is easy to find thanks to clearly identified sections divided by topic. The other half of the publication is a 115-page Yellow Pages(TM) directory section. It offers renovators a list of greater Toronto and Montreal-based merchants they can call to proceed with their home improvement projects.

In addition to the magazine, people can access the publication's content and merchant information through the online version at www.styleathome.yp.ca and www.decormag.pj.ca. The website combines the magazine editorial content and the YellowPages.ca(TM) online directory that enables people to find relevant local businesses quickly and easily.

"This is a unique concept that offers huge benefits to both readers and advertisers," says Ezana Raswork, Vice President, Business Development, Yellow Pages Group. "Users get the benefit of helpful information while having access to relevant resources at their fingertips. At the same time, advertisers are provided a more targeted medium to reach consumers."

"This innovative approach, with its print and online versions, has a promising future," adds Francine Tremblay, Senior Vice President, Consumer Publications, Transcontinental Media. "With Transcontinental's editorial knowledge and Yellow Pages Group's advertising expertise, we offer the best solution for consumers looking to make better home-improvement decisions."

Transcontinental Media and Yellow Pages Group are currently working in partnership on the next specialized publication on family care scheduled to be issued in September 2006.
