The Association of Quebec Landlords meets the new President of the Régie du Logement

The Association of Quebec Landlords (APQ) has met Me Anne Morin, the new President of the Régie du logement.

Me Morin, who is a lawyer, has been at the presidency of the Régie du Logement since July 3, 2015, date at which ended the mandate of Luc Harvey, who had been in office since 2008.
Me Morin was administrative judge and vice-president of the Régie du Logement. She entered the Régie in 1979 as legal counsel and special clerk.

The APQ took advantage of this first meeting to review all the current claims of rental housing owners in presenting the arguments striving to reform the current rental law which is too restrictive for owners of rental housing buildings.

At this time of the year, the outdated calculation method for setting of the rent was also discussed.

The long delays were also discussed allowing to realize the inadequacy of resources at the disposal of the Régie to reduce these delays.
