The future appears to be a little bit better for the owners of small companies and for businesspeople in the country

A recent survey carried out by Angus Reid Strategies makes it possible to confirm the recent declaration of the Bank of Canada concerning the end of the recession and the return to economic growth. The survey reveals a little more optimism concerning the improvement of the economic situation in Canada during the next three months of 2009.

As the end of the year 2009 approaches, the future appears a little bit better for the owners of small companies and for businesspeople everywhere in Canada. This information comes from the quarterly index of Staples/Bureau en Gros.

Almost half, i.e. 45% of the owners of small companies in Canada now believe that the current economic situation is “good” or “very good”, compared to 31% who believed the same thing three to six months ago.

“Although we are not yet at the end of the tunnel, we start to see positive changes in the economy of Canada and these changes are also recognized by a great number of businesspeople,” mentioned Dana Peterson, economist of Citi, by adding that “confidence goes up but at a measured pace. However, the recovery is long, slow and regular as we had anticipated for some time. The owners of small companies will probably continue to modify their companies as structural adjustments take place in the key sectors. Nevertheless, the recovery started presents strategic occasions for medium-term growth. ”
