Movings

The Quebec Landlords' Association (APQ) makes available several media and assistance programs to support you as the 2025 moving days approach.

Even though we've seen a decline in the number of movings over the past two to three years, many tenants still move as July 1st approaches.

We say "as it approaches" because, with June ending with a beautiful sunny weekend (let's hope!), we can predict that the streets will be flooded with moving trucks starting on Saturday, June the 28th.

The APQ tools at your disposal are therefore essential to consult and to use now from our "movings" page on the apq.org website.

1) APQ Reflections: Moving - The pandemic has forced us to plan more!
The Québec Landlords' Association (APQ) wishes to support landlords and tenants on this busy moving day and of tenants moving in and out of the rental housing building. To better support you, the Québec Landlords Association (APQ) assists you through all the tasks you'll be handling during this busy day.
Even if you plan the time slot for each move in advance, many unforeseen events arise, and you'll have little time to manage them.
This intermingling of tenants brings its share of unforeseen events and problems that everyone would have preferred to avoid: a move that hasn't started, a move that never ends, apartments left dirty, and of course, a tenant who refuses to leave!

2) Posters to print and install in your buildings (New this year!)
Year after year, we see tenants "forgetting" to leave and/or taking their furniture or belongings with them. Due to the lack of punitive consequences permitted by law, more and more tenants are treating the apartment they're leaving as an eco-centre. They no longer want to keep their furniture. It’s often broken, so why bother taking it out and taking it to a recycling centre? The Québec Landlords Association (APQ) has designed a poster with links to encourage tenants to remove ALL their belongings on moving day.
